Johny Hoque is a journalist, lyricist and book author working in print and online media in Dhaka, Bangladesh since 2001. He made history as the first entertainment journalist from Bangladesh to cover the Cannes Film Festival — from 2015 to 2022.

His coverage sparked a wave of Bangladeshi filmmakers and journalists towards Cannes, positively impacting the local film industry. He also covered the 28th Busan International Film Festival from South Korea and published "Cannes Kotha" in 2019.

Beyond journalism, Hoque writes lyrics and television scripts, bridging cultures through storytelling.
